The Zilverpand connects the busy shopping areas Noordzandstraat and Zuidzandstraat. There are a few clothing stores and some catering establishments, but in recent years there has also been a lot of vacancy. The Zilverpand is owned by a French owner who wants to attract new shops and catering establishments with Ceusters as the new manager. They mainly want to target a young clientele.
“I think that first and foremost, a diverse offering must be provided so that young people have a reason to come here. This is already present with a number of things that are well known here, but there is a shortage at the moment,” says Dominique Desmeytere from Ceusters. According to them, a first step in that direction lies in accessibility, because they say that from Noordzandstraat and Zuidzandstraat it is not what it should be.
