‘New low point on RTL 4’

Just now that Chantal Janzen is under a magnifying glass due to persistently low viewing figures, she is taking another blow. With Chantal’s Pajama Party she falls out of the top 15 viewing figure.

Chantal Janzen is kind of the promise that it never really fulfilled. The presenter was somewhat prematurely called the new TV queen, but scores ratings that do not fit such a title at all. According to the weekly magazine Privé, she simply does not score well enough to succeed Linda de Mol.

All time low

Just now that she is under a magnifying glass, there is bad news for Chantal again. Her somewhat infantile TV show Chantals Pyjama Party collapsed yesterday with only 589 thousand viewers (11 percent market share) from the viewing figure top 15. These are scores that are a bit embarrassing for the Friday evening of a large family channel such as RTL 4.

Viewing figure expert Tina Nijkamp speaks of a new ‘low point’ for this programme. “Still a neat 19 percent market share in the commercial target group aged 20 to 54, but is that enough for a new season of eight episodes? I think RTL will have to think about that for a long time.”

Summer special

Chantal’s Pajama Party will at least not be used as big anymore, Tina expects. “Maybe another summer special or holiday special, but eight episodes? And if it did come back, I don’t think it would be on Friday anyway.”

Tina states that Chantal is suffering a lot from the new competitor Flikken Maastricht, which scored 1.7 million viewers (30 percent) on NPO 1. NPO 2’s Twee voor Twaalf also did a lot better with 1.3 million viewers (24 percent). . “It bothers her even more than De Slimste Mens.”

Agony

Is there any positive news to report? Yes, Britt Dekker and Wendy van Dijk are on the air with their viewing monstrosity Ministars. The last episode had 405 thousand viewers (8 percent) yesterday, not enough for a place in the top 25 ratings. “The ratings nightmare of Wendy van Dijk and Britt Dekker is finally over,” says Tina.

“Is this undeserved or deserved unseen? Hello the last. All performances turned out to be the same as in the preliminary round, so as a viewer you were actually watching a replay. The eternal Hot Seats also prevent the show from getting any more exciting. I don’t think we will ever see this again and unfortunately for John, the chance of an international hit is nil.”
