Jonathan Knight, member of the no-longer-boyish boy band New Kids On The Block, has married. As the 53-year-old explained in an interview with the US magazine “Entertainment Weekly”, his partner Harley Rodriguez and he have taken the marriage vows.
When reporter Lauren Zima asked him about his ring in an interview and asked if the two actually got married, Knight said succinctly: “We did. But everyone just assumed we were married, so I never say yes or no because I don’t want to lie.” Knight didn’t reveal when the wedding took place. A big celebration could not take place due to the rampant Covid 19 pandemic. “It’s coming,” he promises. Knight and his now-husband have been together since 2008. On his Instagram page, the musician changed his name to Jonathan Knight-Rodriguez.
In addition to his music career, Knight has also built a second mainstay as a TV star. On HGTV, he hosts the series Farmhouse Fixer, in which he restores old farmhouses. “I’ll be 54 soon, and I never thought in my twenties that at 54 I’d still be touring with the New Kids and having a hit show on HGTV,” Knight said.
New Kids on the Block, also known as NKOTB, formed in 1984 and were one of the first well-known boy bands until they disbanded in 1994. The group, which also includes Jonathan’s brother Jordan Knight, has been active again since 2008.
