A star runner who died unexpectedly in May Tori Bowie weighed only about 43 kilograms at the time of his death, according to the autopsy report.
Bowie’s height was 175 centimeters, so at 43 kilograms his body mass index was 14.00. This means morbidly underweight.
The autopsy found no signs of murder or drugs on Bowie’s body. Possible causes of death were breathing difficulties and eclampsia, i.e. a rare pregnancy complication.
Bowie, 32, was eight months pregnant when she died on May 2. The child had already died in the womb before birth.
In his career, Bowie won the World Championship gold in the 100 meters in London in 2017. In addition, he achieved Olympic silver in the 100 meters from Rio 2016 and bronze from the same Games in the 200 meters.
In Rio, he also won Olympic gold in the relay. The relay gold also came out of the World Championships in London.
