New in the database: Oberliga Südwest 1986/87 with champions Eintracht Trier

…better and better!

Transfermarkt’s database has gained another milestone. The 1986/87 season of the Oberliga Südwest is now available with all detailed information. Eintracht Trier became champions on the last match day and, despite their defeat in Pirmasens (2:3), they could no longer be overtaken by Wormatia Worms (5:0 against Bad Kreuznach) due to their good goal difference.

With Borussia Neunkirchen and today’s first and second division clubs Mainz 05 and SV 07 Elversberg, other well-known clubs were there in the season – but the latter were among those relegated alongside SV Edenkoben, ASC Dudweiler and FK Clausen. Jochen Krüger from Südwest Ludwigshafen was the top scorer with 23 goals, ahead of Birkenfelds’ Gerald Klein (19 goals) and Worms’ Uwe Eckel (18). Rudi Thömmes, Lothar Leiendecker, Gunther Metz and Michael Serr also left their mark.
