New high-tech dispatching at the VLAS police zone

The dispatching is the beating heart of the force and is operational around the clock for interventions in Kortrijk, Kuurne and Lendelede.

The new dispatching uses the latest technology to process large amounts of data and information, such as camera images and drone images. The police opted for the OpSpace system of the Kortrijk sculpture group Barco.

“Normally, 1 dispatcher would have to use 9 screens, 6 mice and 6 keyboards, but with the new system this is now possible with 2 screens, 1 mouse and 1 keyboard.

In this way, information can be quickly viewed, processed and passed on to the intervention teams on the ground,” said the police.

Citizens of Kortrijk, Kuurne and Lendelede can dial in by telephone via the telephone number 1701. This can be done with a request to send a police team to the scene or for an answer to an administrative question.
