new HDE boss remains CEO of Intersport Germany

The supervisory board of Intersport Deutschland eG is sticking with the previous management team: just one day after the election of Dr. Alexander von Preen as the new President of the German Retail Association (HDE), Intersport has extended the contracts of Alexander von Preen, CEO of Intersport Deutschland eG since 2018, and CFO Thomas Storck until 2026.

The Supervisory Board team is thus confirming the continuation of the company’s previous “Best in Sports” strategy. “We rely on continuity, stability and reliability with our successful board team of Dr. alexander v Preen, Thomas Storck and Frank Geisler,” emphasizes Knud Hansen, Chairman of the Intersport Germany Supervisory Board. “Intersport has developed the three-person management team very successfully over the past few years. As number 1 for sports and health, thanks to you and the entire INTERSPORT team, we are clearly on course for the future. Intersport is more digital, more innovative and more sustainable.”

Thomas Storck will also act as deputy CEO.

The aim of the “Best in Sports” strategy is to transform the purchasing association into a “customer-driven innovation community”. On the one hand, it should be about the further development of the stationary areas, the cooperative and digital business models. The focus is, for example, on space expansion, the development of new shop formats, the implementation of new CI contracts, the introduction of selective sales for the exclusive brands, the expansion of the virtual trade fair and the optimization of logistics through the construction of a new warehouse.

Around 900 dealers throughout Germany are united in Intersport Deutschland eG.
