New fuel! Hamann suggests ex-BVB coach Klopp resign

After the clear 1: 4 pack in the away game at Manchester City, Liverpool FC is more than ever threatened with a season without Champions League football. Ex-national player Dietmar Hamann sees coach Jürgen Klopp as part of the problem and advises the former BVB trainer to resign through the flower.

When looking at the Premier League table, many Liverpool fans should not feel comfortable at the moment. 30 (!) points separate the Reds from leaders FC Arsenal, who have played two more games but are simply on a different level this season.

Worse still: Even the minimum goal of qualifying for the Champions League can hardly be achieved for Jürgen Klopp’s team, who are currently eight points behind arch-rivals Manchester United in fourth place.

According to former Liverpool star and chief critic Dietmar Hamann, the fish stinks from the head at his former club. In other words: For him, the coach is (also) the problem.

“I’m afraid that if Klopp decides to continue, next year won’t be any better because the owners in Liverpool have never spent the money like other clubs,” predicted the 49-year-old on the talk show “Sky90”.

At the latest when the start of the next season goes wrong again, things could get “uncomfortable” for the former champion coach.

Therefore, Hamann advised Klopp to voluntarily withdraw after the season. “He didn’t deserve that and this wonderful marriage between Liverpool and Klopp didn’t deserve that. That’s why the best thing for both sides would be to make a cut in the summer,” emphasized the TV expert.

However, he does not really believe in it: “If you listen to Klopp: He wants to do it, he thinks he can do it – but I have great concerns.”
