It has been known for months that the H&M retail chain, which belongs to the Swedish textile group Hennes & Mauritz AB, has secured new premises in downtown Munich. It is now official when the new flagship store will open.
The store at Kaufingerstrasse 22 will open its doors for the first time on November 24th – the international retail campaign day Black Friday – the clothing retailer said on Thursday at the request of FashionUnited, thereby confirming a corresponding announcement from the real estate company Storescouts.
In the popular shopping mile, H&M is moving into premises with a total area of around 3,700 square meters on four floors, which were previously used by the clothing suppliers Esprit and New Yorker. According to their own information, the Swedes also want to offer their range of cosmetics there on an area of around 100 square meters.
According to a statement from Storescouts, it is one of H&M’s “largest German stores”. However, work on the building is currently in full swing. “After extensive renovation work, the new glass facade is currently being installed over two floors. “The interior work will then be carried out at a rapid pace so that the planned opening date can be met,” explained Storescouts.
