New figures Vias: fewer accidents than last year

In the first three months there were 11 fatal traffic accidents on the roads of West Flanders. That is three less than in the same period last year. There were almost 900 accidents with injuries, which is a decrease of two percent. The number of accidents involving pedestrians fell by 13 percent, with cyclists falling by 17 percent. Finally, there were 20 percent fewer crashes involving a motorcycle.

In ten years time, the number of accidents and road deaths in our country has fallen by almost a quarter, yet one road death is still regrettable every day.
