With his choice for FC Utrecht, the Volendammer fulfills an old promise. Veerman has been eager to play for FC Utrecht for years, in order to honor a deceased friend who was a supporter of FC Utrecht. “He was a big fan here and was regularly on Bunnikside. Then it is very nice that you can fulfill the promise you have made and hopefully play a role for FC Utrecht,” he says on the FC Utrecht website.
Jordy Zuidam, technical director of FC Utrecht, is happy that he has been able to add Veerman to the selection. “Henk is a real target man. He is big, strong and has the ability to score. With Henk we add an extra weapon to our roster, which can break open matches. It is also great that Henk has an incredible drive to play for our supporters and club. We have tried several times in the past to contract Henk and we have now succeeded on the third time. We are pleased that we have come to an agreement with Heerenveen and that we can now welcome him here in Stadion Galgenwaard.”
