The intention is to implement filter blockages at the ports of Antwerp, Zeebrugge and Ghent. The organization is owned by young farmers, “but we support,” said Dickens.
With the new action, farmers are targeting the nitrogen policy, which they believe is based on incorrect figures. “We want other scientists to be heard, because the policy is based on fraudulent figures. We are being silenced,” said the farmer. By blocking the ports, the farmers want to point out that it is mainly industry that emits nitrogen, and not agriculture.
Actions will continue after March 14, according to the agricultural organization.
