Efteling fans need not fear that all elements of the haunted castle will be lost, now that it has been announced that the iconic castle will be demolished. The attraction that will replace this will have a similar theme and the same legendary music. Looopings reports this after conversations with insiders. The working name of the project is ‘Danse macabre’.
The Efteling chooses according to Looopings at the new attraction again for an eerie look, in which the well-known soundtrack of the current haunted castle will play a very important role.
Since its opening in 1978, the famous ‘Danse macabre’ by the French composer Camille Saint-Saëns has been heard during the ghost show. The performance of the London Philharmonia Orchestra can currently be heard in the Efteling, recorded in 1980 in The Kingsway Hall.
Several disappointed reactions
It is not clear whether the new attraction on the site of the haunted castle will also be called ‘Danse macabre’.
The Efteling itself has only announced that the haunted castle must make way for something else. This news led to various disappointed reactions from Efteling enthusiasts. A petition against this intention of Efteling was signed thousands of times in a short time.
