Amsterdam – Fewer houses are being built, as a result of which the building ambition of 100,000 per year is not achieved. Figures from Statistics Netherlands show that the number of building permits issued has now fallen to 15,000 for the second consecutive quarter. This is 27% lower than the previous year, while there is currently a 300,000 housing shortage.
