New contract: DFB men’s and women’s international matches live on ARD and ZDF

In the coming years, ARD and ZDF will continue to report live from games of the German national soccer teams – both women’s and men’s.

After the joint sports rights agency of ARD and ZDF, SportA, reached an agreement with the DFB about the acquisition of exclusive media rights to all women’s international matches until 2027, SportA has now also agreed on the acquisition for ARD and ZDF with UEFA from exclusive media rights to men’s international matches until 2028.

ARD and ZDF have acquired all exclusive live broadcast rights for all DFB women’s international matches between 2023 and 2027. The rights package includes the games in the new UEFA Women’s Nations League as well as the qualifying and preparatory games for UEFA EURO 2025 and the FIFA World Cup 2027. The acquired rights can be used live and re-used as well as technology-neutrally for all distribution channels.

30 men’s games

The agreement with UEFA on international matches for the DFB men includes a total of 30 games. These include matches in the UEFA Nations League, as well as preparatory and qualifying games for UEFA Euro 2024, for the FIFA World Cup 2026 and for UEFA EURO 2028. The acquired rights can also be used live and re-used as well as technology-neutrally for all distribution channels.
