New construction WZC Mariaburcht in Dentergem inaugurated

The new building replaces the existing residential care center Mariaburcht. The building has been in use since the beginning of this year, but today the building was officially inaugurated by Monseigneur Franco Coppola. There are, among other things, communal living and dining areas on each floor with a view of the outside environment.

Security and structure

The residential care flats have been adapted into assisted living apartments in order to offer personalized care. In addition to the 88 residential units, the site also has a center for short stays, a center for day care, a center for day care and a local service center with Welbipunt.

There are also four houses for people with dementia in the new building. Safety and structure are also central here. This type of housing also strives for an optimal balance between privacy and care for this specific target group.

Sustainable and ecological

It is a sustainable and ecological new building. There are solar panels on the roof to make optimal use of natural heat sources. There is also an energy storage field, making the site independent of fossil fuels.

In addition to heat, water is also a major concern. The grounds around the Speibeek form a natural flood plain. The new building is located in the same zone, but the implantation of open canals also guarantees a healthy water management in the future.
