After years of waiting, the time has finally come: at the end of March the construction of the long -awaited new school building in the Emmer district Delftlanden. The plans have been on the table for years, but the shovel of soil but not in. Now the moment is there, and if everything goes according to plan, the school will open its doors in March 2026.
The primary schools in the Delft countries have been in an emergency building for a long time. That was once a temporary solution, but because the neighborhood developed slower than expected, a definitive school building was not available. In the meantime the neighborhood is growing rapidly, and with that growth the number of children is also increasing. And so a fully -fledged school is simply needed.
The new school is being built next to the current school building. Two primary schools and two pre -schools get their own spaces, with a joint hall, a playroom and a brand new gym. The school yards are separated, but the main entrance is shared.
The construction of the school costs 7.2 million euros. Another 2.3 million has been reserved for the gym.
