British luxury fashion retailer Matchesfashion Ltd. changes chief financial officer. On Tuesday, the e-commerce specialist announced the appointment of Dave Murray as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He is scheduled to succeed Sean Glithero next fall, who the company says is taking “a career break.” For a “short transition phase”, Harvey Ainley will now lead the finance department as interim CFO, Matchesfashion announced.
Murray joins from competitor Farfetch Ltd., where he most recently served as senior vice president of finance. Prior to Farfetch, Murray held various senior finance positions at Amazon UK and Sainsbury’s over a twenty year career.
CEO Paolo De Cesare has high hopes for the CFO-designate: “Dave is one of the most respected financial experts in the luxury industry and will provide us with invaluable expertise in the field of e-commerce,” he said in a statement. “We expect the next $100 billion in growth in the luxury market to come from continued digital penetration, and Dave’s vast experience in this space will be immensely valuable.”
The company also announced another new addition: As HR Director, Prenisha Harry is now responsible for human resources. She switched from the Danish fashion jewelery retailer Pandora, where she was most recently HR Director UK & Ireland.
