Gaetano Sciuto is the new CEO at Maison Margiela
He will take over as head of the Belgian fashion house on July 17, Maison Margiela announced on Monday. Sciuto brings more than 30 years of experience in the fashion and luxury industries and succeeds Gianfranco Gianangeli, who left Maison Margiela of his own volition in May.
Sciuto comes from the Italian fashion house Giorgio Armani, where he was CEO for the Americas region. Before that he was at the Italian luxury brand Fendi. There he was President of Fendi Americas and Global Licenses and Accessories Director.
“We are delighted to welcome Stefano to the Maison Margiela board and Gaetano to the OTB Group, a manager with tremendous experience in the luxury business,” said OTB Group CEO Ubaldo Minelli. “I would like to thank Gianfranco for his work over the past few years.”
Stefano Rosso becomes CEO
In addition to a new CEO, Maison Margiela also gets a new chairman. Stefano Rosso takes over this role from his father Renzo Rosso. The founder of parent company OTB Group, which also owns brands such as Diesel and Jil Sander, has held the position since Maison Margiela was acquired in 2002.
Stefano Rosso is already a board member of the OTB Group and CEO of Brave Virtual, OTB’s virtual products provider. In his new position, which he assumed in May, he will, like Sciuto, report to OTB CEO Minelli.
