New CEO comes from Pandora

The Telgter textile discounter Takko Fashion has found a successor for CEO Tjeerd Jegen.

Martino Pessina took over the chief position on January 16th, Takko announced on Tuesday. He comes from Danish jewelry retailer Pandora, where he served as Chief Commercial Officer until December. Before that, he worked for the Swedish fashion group H&M for almost 20 years, most recently as managing director for the North American market.

“Martino Pessina is an experienced fashion and non-food expert with a proven track record of developing profitable growth strategies for retailers worldwide,” said Dirk van den Berghe, Chairman of the Advisory Board at Takko Fashion. “He brings an excellent understanding of the fashion value retail segment in Europe. We are convinced that he will further expand Takko’s increasingly successful quality discount business model in the various markets.”

His predecessor Jegen left last October after almost a year and a half with the company to take on the role of CEO at the Dutch bicycle manufacturer Accell Group.

Takko is still looking for a new CFO

Two months later, Chief Financial Officer Stephan Hungeling, who only came to Telgte in September, parted ways. No successor has yet been appointed for him.

In the meantime, Christian Gisy, a member of the Takko Fashion Advisory Board, is supporting the areas of finance and controlling, legal and compliance, and IT “in all strategic decisions on an interim basis.”

In addition to Pessina, the Takko management continues to consist of COO Thomas Füllhaas and CPO Sebastian Weber.
