New beach access Vosseslag De Haan opened

The redesign of the beach entrance is radical: wooden retaining walls have been replaced by concrete elements in a rock motif. There is also a new bicycle shed and modern benches and picnic tables.

The Agency for Maritime and Coastal Services pays more than 200,000 euros, the province invests 20,000 euros. More than 100,000 people have already climbed on Guillaume Bijl’s lighthouse. That makes the viewpoint the most popular in our province.

Attraction

“That beach access was in need of a refresher,” says mayor Wilfried Vandaele. “The Vosseslag district only grew at the end of the 1960s. And it really is an attraction for tourists and beach lovers.”
