Traffic must take into account detours and speed limits on the provincial road N242/Ommering near Alkmaar for the next two weeks. The asphalt between the AZ stadium and the Leeghwater bridge will be replaced. For users of this important traffic artery and connecting route in the region, the work will have the necessary consequences.
The asphalt was last renewed in 2013 and, according to the province, needs to be replaced after ten years. This will happen between 10 and 21 July on both road sections.
The asphalting work is carried out in the evenings and at night. This means that at those times in the first week you will have to detour in the direction of the A9 motorway.
A week later, this applies to traffic in the direction of Heerhugowaard. You can detour via Diamantweg towards Kooimeerplein and vice versa. The diversion routes are indicated with signs.
The road is usable during the day, but there is a speed limit of 50 km/h. Businesses on the Boekelermeer and along the Bestevaerstraat and Koelmalaan will remain accessible.
