FC Bayern is currently working on its squad for the second half of the season. Nordi Mukiele in particular is closely associated with the German record champions these days. But head coach Thomas Tuchel doesn’t want to look at the transfer cards.
FC Bayern has already signed a new man for central defense in Eric Dier. Now reinforcements are also needed for the right side of the defense. According to consistent media reports, Nordi Mukiele is Munich’s ideal solution. However, a commitment is still a long time coming.
Sports director Christoph Freund is likely to be in intensive contact with Mukiele’s club Paris Saint-Germain. The squad planner recently traveled to FC Bayern’s training camp in Portugal.
“He [Freund] doesn’t have a player with them, which is usually unacceptable. But we’ll let him get away with it again,” joked head coach Tuchel in an interview with Sky.
“There is no news yet, otherwise we would of course have informed you,” the 50-year-old remained tight-lipped about possible transfers.
FC Bayern: Is Mukiele coming? Tuchel puts on a transfer poker face
Even when specifically asked about Mukiele, whose contract with PSG runs until 2027, Tuchel did not provide any new information.
“If anything is to go through at all, no matter what the deal, then it helps a lot not to talk about it beforehand, otherwise you’ll upset all parties involved and of course we don’t want that,” said the Bayern coach.
Tuchel said he has “confidence in what we are doing and has great trust in Christoph” about working with Freund. “We know what we want and try to make things possible,” said the main trainer, who wants to focus on working with the team.
