The police have arrested another three people on suspicion of involvement in the riots in the AZ stadium around the match against West Ham United. In total, seventeen men are now suspected.
Just before the whistle for the return of the Conference League semi-final a week and a half ago, a group of an estimated 150 people break out of their supporters’ boxes and take to the stands with supporters of rival West Ham United.
In order to identify even more possible persons involved, five new photos will be shown tonight in the program Opsporing Requested. They were made in the stadium, the police spokesman said.
Images were already shown last week of suspects of open violence and assault. People then reported to the police and received dozens of tips. Three of the men haven’t been caught yet.
Rapid pursuit
“A large part of the suspects wore face coverings during the disturbances, such as face masks and balaclavas,” the police write. But now the police, in collaboration with a team from the KNVB, have compared previous images from the stadium.
Next week, on 6 and 7 June, some of the suspects will already be prosecuted under the heading of ‘quick justice’.
