New album – and Brad Pitt also plays a role

The singer Sade Adu, known worldwide as Sade, develops new songs with her band. This was confirmed by the French producer and composer Damien Quintard “Billboard”. He is currently working with the musicians at Miraval Studios in Correns, France.

While nothing is yet known about the material or other details of the planned LP, the recording location is likely to cause a stir. It is a new studio built by Brad Pitt on his Château Miraval estate. The actor and producer bought it with his wife Angelina Jolie in 2012. Both have been divorced since 2019, but following the unveiling of court documents, it was recently revealed that Jolie accused her ex-husband of physically and emotionally abusing their (adopted) children together.

But back to Sade: The singer and band last released a joint album 12 years ago: “Soldier Of Love”. Meanwhile, in 2018, they contributed the song “Flower Of The Universe” to the Disney film The Puzzle of Time and the tender lullaby “The Big Unknown” to the film “Widows” by star director Steve McQueen.

Sade: New songs were already created in 2018

As Stuart Matthewman, member of the Sade band, recently explained, the musicians worked intensively on other songs during this phase, which could now also be the basis for the new record. Most recently, a Sade retrospective box set was released.

The Nigerian-British Grammy Award winner is considered a shy and headstrong artist and, with over 100 million records sold, is one of the most successful musicians of her generation. Already with her smooth jazz debut “Diamond Life” and the mega hit “Smooth Operator” it contained, she became a formative pop figure of the 80s and defined a new genre: Sophisticated Pop.
