It’s bewitched! Again and again cars drive into the track bed of the tram on Berliner Allee. Late on Sunday evening, there were two more crashes within an hour.
At around 10:30 p.m., the driver of a white station wagon first landed on the tracks at a construction site at the Berliner Allee/Buschallee intersection in Weißensee. At around 11 p.m., a Smart drove onto the rails.
Both cars were recovered by the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) and a towing company. Nobody got hurt. There was property damage of an unknown amount. The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
On Boxing Day 2022, at around 8:50 p.m., a BMW shaved a signal head at what was then the construction site at the intersection of Berliner Allee and Indira-Gandhi-Strasse before coming to a stop at the tram stop.
The construction site is now different, but last year numerous cars ended up on the track bed on Berliner Allee – despite numerous signs!
The car was already the 37th vehicle to have had an accident in this area in the last year.
And on December 4th, three cars drove onto the track bed in one day. A woman had to be freed with her car by the fire department in the early evening. Another driver landed on the rails while the rescue work was still in progress. An hour later, the third car crashed.
