National goalkeeper Manuel Neuer (36) has given the green light for his comeback at Bayern. In a video published by the German record champions, he said that he was “fine”. “I did the first team training. Everything was fine,” emphasized the captain. The Munich team is a guest at Hertha BSC this Saturday (3:30 p.m.). Neuer, who will go to Berlin, had missed seven competitive games due to a shoulder injury. He completed his last assignment to date at the beginning of October in a 2-2 draw in Dortmund.
Neuer also expressed confidence for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar. “Of course it looks good for the World Cup if I can do everything normally outside, train with the team and hopefully play soon. Then nothing stands in the way of the World Cup,” he said. Next Thursday, national coach Hansi Flick will announce his final 26-man squad for the finals. Before that, new season beckons in the club. Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann announced on Friday before the non-public final training session on the club premises in Munich that if the endurance test went well, Neuer would travel to Berlin and be in goal again in the duel with Hertha. During Neuer’s failure, Sven Ulreich (34) moved between the posts.
