Netflix sued over series Inventing Anna | TV

Rachel DeLoache Williams, who in Inventing Anna played by actress Katie Lowes, believes Netflix has “deliberately” portrayed her as “a greedy, snobbish, disloyal, dishonest, cowardly, manipulative and opportunistic person.” Her lawyer, Alexander Rufus-Isaacs, explains that Williams had to go to court because her real name is used in the series. “She is portrayed as a terrible person, and she is not.”

Inventing Anna is about the true story of Delvey who moved to New York in 2013 at the age of 22 and pretended to be a wealthy heiress, when in reality she was the daughter of Russian immigrants in Germany with no wealth. She knew everything and everyone and told that she had a trust fund worth 67 million to her name. Without paying, she ate in the most luxurious restaurants, slept in the most expensive hotels and even managed to use a private plane.
