With both Netflix and Disney+, a user has the option to download movies and series so that they can watch it afterwards without an internet connection. So that will change in the future for users with a Netflix subscription with ads. According to Steve Moser, that’s not entirely surprising either. Many other streaming services only work online and do not offer the option to download movies and series anyway.
It is not yet clear when this new subscription will be available. It is clear, however, that Netflix is collaborating with Microsoft for the advertisements and will provide users with “the most relevant advertisements” via a kind of setting. The subscription will cost significantly less, so Netflix wants to increase the number of subscribers.
