The Netflix platform has taken advantage of the events of #geekweek to announce the release date of the awaited television adaptation of ‘Sandman’, the mythical graphic novel by Neil Gaiman and show its first trailer.
According to Netflix, the series will finally premiere on August 5.
The plot revolves around a place called Dreaming, where the king of dreams, Dream (Tom Sturridge) shapes our fears. The character is held prisoner for a century, causing a series of unforeseen changes that disrupt wakefulness and sleep forever.

The series consists of ten epic episodes portraying Sueño’s various adventures. Development and executive production is handled by Gaiman, the showrunner Allan Heinberg and David S. Goyer.
Kirby Howell-Baptiste plays Death, the protagonist’s sister. Gwendoline Christie, Vivienne Acheampong, Boyd Holbrook, Charles Dance, Asim Chaudhry and Sanjeev Bhaskar, Mason Alexander Park, Donna Preston, Jenna Coleman, Niamh Walsh, Joely Richardson, David Thewlis, Kyo Ra, Stephen Fry, Razane Jammal, Sandra James Young and Patton Oswalt complete the cast of the series.
