Streaming giant Netflix has added a last-minute warning to the opening season of the fourth season of the Stranger Things hit series. The reason for this is a school shootout in Texas this week that killed 21 people. Of the dead, 19 were children.
The first part of Stranger Things ’fourth production season was released today, May 27th. Netflix reports that the opening scene of the series is very graphic and includes violence against children.
– We filmed Stranger Things a year ago. But with the recent tragic school shootout, viewers may find the opening scene disruptive. We are deeply saddened by this blatant violence and our hearts are with every grieving family, the warning seen in the series states.
A Netflix spokesman commented on the decision to Hollywood Reporter.
– We decided to add a warning about the recent tragedy. And because the opening scene is very graphic.
The warning will be displayed to viewers in the United States. The description of the episode also warns against violence against children.
