In the 19th Mediterranean Games held in Algeria, national badminton player Neslihan Yiğit won the gold medal in women’s singles by beating her Spanish rival Beatriz Corrales Ocana 2-0.


Neslihan, who reached the finals by defeating Spanish Ania Setien Erro, Italian Yasmine Hamza and Egyptian Doha Hany, in the competitions played at Salle Oued Tlelat Hall in Oran, did not set a set for her opponents in the matches.


Neslihan, who defeated her Spanish rival Beatriz Corrales Ocana 2-0 with 21-14 and 21-11 sets in the final, won the gold medal.


Hamza Yerlikaya, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, who came to Algeria to follow the Mediterranean Games, watched Neslihan Yiğit’s final fight in the hall.


Yerlikaya went to Neslihan after the final and congratulated the national athlete on his success.
