Rough electric guitar tones, a sparkling disco ball and a war-disabled flag: Neil Young performs the American national anthem “The Star-Spangled Banner” in his new video. “Stand for Peace” is the name of the Canadian artist’s music video, which was directed by his wife Daryl Hannah. The distorted sounds are reminiscent of Jimi Hendrix’s legendary national anthem performance from 1969.
Neil Young boycotts Twitter
On November 19th, Neil Young announced on his website that he was withdrawing from the platform in protest against X owner Elon Musk. The reason for this is an anti-Semitic tweet that Musk supported with a comment. The musician released a statement about the withdrawal on his website. In it he strongly condemns As bad as they are, they must be forgotten. So that we have the freedom to move forward in life together, all of humanity focused on saving our planet for future generations of all people.”
With the words “Be Brave” and “Stand for Peace” displayed, Young now conveys his message of peace.
