Residents around the Comeniusstraat in Amsterdam Nieuw-West were startled this morning by a loud explosion in the street. A police spokesman said there were no injuries and the investigation is underway.
The explosion took place around 06:45 am “I have never heard such a loud bang”, a resident told AT5/NH Amsterdam. According to her, many windows in the street were broken by the loud bang. The local residents were also all startled awake and many went outside to take a look.
The police spokesman said the explosion took place on the street and at least seven windows were broken. “It’s a time when people walk their dogs, it could have turned out very differently.” Police have cordoned off the area and are investigating the incident.
