Negotiations with Red Bull failed

In the end, Red Bull and Porsche didn’t even find common ground.

Porsche will not enter formula one. At least not as a partner of Red Bull.

The parties announced on Friday that the negotiations, which had already been carried out to a great extent, had finally collapsed due to mutual disagreements.

The German brand was supposed to join the F1 series in 2026 together with sister company Audi. Hynttyt was supposed to be created together with the top team Red Bull.

The agreement, which was negotiated behind the scenes for a long time, was believed to have been completed before it was announced. A month ago, in documents made public, it appeared that Porsche was to buy 50 percent of Red Bull’s F1 team.

This apparently turned out to be the point that brought down the deal. The energy drink company was not willing to sell a part of its stable, while Porsche wanted to be more than just an engine supplier. It was believed that Porsche’s long-term plan was to have its own factory garage.

However, Red Bull has no interest in giving up its successful team.

On Friday, the parties published a press release in which it was said that the cooperation negotiations had failed.

The news does not rule out the possibility of Porsche joining the F1 teams for the 2026 season. Instead of Red Bull, only another team would become a partner.

The sister company Audi is believed to be joining forces with Sauber, which currently runs Alfa Romeo’s F1 operations.
