This is explained by the project manager of the Norwegian Eurovision Song Contest Thea Flinders. According to him, the discussion about the weight of the councils has also accelerated in official bodies after the five-year finals in May.

– Now could be a good moment for the EBU to make a proper assessment of the council system, Flinder says.

According to him, a decision will not be made on the matter in a moment.

– NRK is in discussion with the EBU. We have been told that the matter will be evaluated and the final decision will come in January.

Sweden’s Loreen won the Eurovision Song Contest with the votes of the jury, and the debate about the legitimacy of the victory has been heated. PDO

The matter is finally decided by the so-called Eurovision’s official reference group, which has the power to change the rules of the contest.

In selecting the winner in Eurovision, expert juries from different countries have half the weight, while the voting public has the other half. There has been a heated debate about the fairness of the jury system, especially this year after Suomen Käärijä finished second despite being overwhelmingly number one in the public vote. Lore, Sweden, took the victory thanks to an avalanche of voices from the Raati people.

Finland ranked fourth in the jury’s scoring. Many Vius fans in Finland and elsewhere in the world have considered it unfair that the huge pot of telephone voting was not enough to raise Cha Cha Cha -song until victory. Käärijä got 376 points in the telephone voting, while Loreen, who came in second, got 243 points.

The Eurovision judges are made up of five music industry professionals in each country. After the last Eurovision, there has been talk, for example, about whether the weight of judges in relation to audience votes should be reduced.
