Neglected Arctic dog found in abandoned house: found in its own excrement | Inland

This is reported by the National Animal Protection Inspectorate (LID) on Tuesday. The dog was trapped in a utility room that had apparently not been cleaned for a long time. Between the thick layers of feces and mold, the lonely dog would have lived for weeks. According to Jelko de Ruijter, spokesperson for the LID, the dog in question is a male and is either a husky or a cross between a husky and another breed. “That’s why we describe him as a polar dog,” says Ruijter.

Ruijter describes that there was a heavy ammonia smell in the house due to the filth. “The dog was poorly cared for, had a matted coat and nails that were too long. The LID has seized the animal in consultation with the Public Prosecution Service and is drawing up an official report against the owner. The police will inform the municipality and healthcare authorities about the situation at the address.”

Heat

The dog is believed to have been in the home for weeks. That would mean he was stuck in the raunchy kitchen even during the hot days. Fortunately, according to the LID, this did not have much of an impact. “The utility room does not face south and was quite cool,” says Ruijter.
