Neatly dressed young people rock the cinema after the latest trend

Tight in suit to the latest Minion film: it is a trend on TikTok that comes from the United States and England to the Netherlands. Today, dozens of ‘gentleminions’ were spotted at a cinema in Haarlem, preparing for a noisy afternoon. “Have fun screaming like that.”

Go to the movies in suit – NH Nieuws

The new animated film is part of the Despicable Me franchise. Recently a new movie was released about the Minions, the yellow creatures from the movie. It is the second part of the Minios, where a hype has arisen: tight in a suit and with a lot of noise to the movies.

“I don’t really know why, it’s just a lot of fun to do,” says a young visitor. There is no clear reason behind wearing a suit. †It’s just funny that we’re actually way too old for this movie and we come here dressed so seriously,” said another.

Nuisance

More and more cinemas in England no longer allow young people to go to the Minions film in suits. Because although the visitors are neatly dressed, they cause a lot of nuisance. It turns out to be part of the puzzling phenomenon of screaming during the movie.

“Shouting ‘King Bob’ hard, that’s a saying from the first Minions movie,” explains a young lad. It is a joke among the young that there is loud shouting. They also clap hard and make a special hand gesture. The visitors have a lot of fun with it.

‘Best movie of the year’

Cinema chain Pathé announced that visitors in suits can be kicked out of the cinema if they make too much noise. Some therefore choose eggs for their money and leave their pack at home.

My suit was already ready, but it was too much of a risk. If you are sent out, you will miss one of the best films of this year, of course you do not want that,” concludes a lover of the film.
