Nearly 70,000 positive tests, number of patients in hospitals stable | Inland

Since carnival and the new relaxation of the corona rules, more corona infections have been added. The weekly average has been rising since February 28. On Friday, the average rose slightly for the first time since Carnival Monday.

RIVM received reports about seventeen people who died from their corona infection. The fact that the deaths have now been reported does not mean that the deceased died in the past day.

The number of corona patients in Dutch hospitals barely increased by five from Thursday to Friday. There are now 1,663 patients in hospital who are infected with the corona virus. But for the sixth day in a row, the number of corona patients admitted has increased, the National Coordination Center for Patient Distribution (LCPS) reports.

There are 160 patients in intensive care units with Covid-19, the same number as Thursday. In the nursing wards, 1503 corona patients occupied a bed, 5 more than 24 hours ago. 21 new patients with the corona virus were admitted to the ICs between Thursday and Friday, 234 to the nursing wards.

Some of the admitted patients who tested positive for the coronavirus were hospitalized for a different reason. After doing a corona test, it turned out that they are positive. The LCPS makes no distinction in the daily hospital figures between patients admitted with or because of corona.
