Jayson Tatum led Giannis Antetokounmpo’s team to a 184-175 in the NBA All-Star Game over LeBron James’ team.
The Boston Celtics winger scored 55 points in the show game of the top basketball players in North America’s professional league, setting an all-star record. Tatum was also named the All-Star Game’s Most Valuable Player.
“It means a lot to me: when you think of all the legends and great players. And to be honest: records are there to be broken. I hope to keep mine for as long as possible,” Tatum said of the record held since 2017 by Anthony Davis with 52 points.

Tatum scored 27 points in the third quarter alone. The Celtics player hit ten long-range shots throughout the game. Damian Lillard from the Portland Trail Blazers, who had won the three-way competition the day before, ensured the final score of 184:175.

The two superstars had chosen their teams for the first time directly before the game in the hall.

James injured his hand during the All-Star game and did not return for the second half.
