The Golden State Warriors have in the NBA-Did the series playoffs 2-2 against the Sacramento Kings. Title favorites Boston Celtics are yet to win against Atlanta, as are the New York Knicks.
Champion Golden State avoided a potentially crucial deficit in the first round of the NBA playoffs. The Warriors won game four on Sunday evening (April 23, 2023, local time) in their own arena against the Sacramento Kings 126-125 and thus managed to equalize 2-2 after two defeats at the beginning of the game against the Kings.
Curry with 32 points and a blackout in the closing stages
Superstar Steph Curry delivered again with 32 points, but made an atypical lapse in the exciting final phase: First he missed an open throw from the three-point line, then he indicated a time-out under pressure from the opponent – but the Warriors had none at all. “I’ll say it like it is: I thought it was the smartest move in the world,” said Curry, who led his team with 32 points. “Luckily we got away with the win but we have to learn how important all those details are.”
The Warriors lost the ball in this scene, and Curry also conceded a technical foul. Harrison Barnes ultimately rejected the potentially decisive threesome for the Kings. Game five of the best-of-seven series is Thursday in Sacramento.
Harstenstein on course with Knicks and Celtics
Isaiah Hartenstein is about to reach the conference semifinals with the New York Knicks. The team of the German national player won the fourth duel with the Cleveland Cavaliers 102:93 and leads in the best-of-seven series 3:1. Hartenstein had eight rebounds, two blocks and one point.
The Boston Celtics are also missing a win to advance. The Celtics won Game 4 129-1212 against the Atlanta Hawks and increased their lead in the series to 3-1. Jayeln Brown and Jayson Tatum stood out at title favorites Boston with 31 points each.
The Minnesota Timberwolves averted the early exit with a 114-108 overtime win over the Denver Nuggets, but Denver is 3-1 up the series.
