The Milwaukee Bucks from the North American professional basketball league NBA have surprisingly parted ways with their head coach Adrian Griffin.

The club announced this on Tuesday (January 23, 2024) after numerous media outlets had already reported on it. “It was a difficult decision that we had to make in the middle of the season”, Milwaukee general manager Jon Horst was quoted as saying in the statement. Current assistant Joe Prunty will act as interim coach.

Commitment since last June

Griffin only took over the team from Mike Budenholzer last June and only managed 43 games on the sidelines. The media is talking about Doc Rivers as his successor. The Bucks around Greek superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo are currently in second place in the NBA’s Eastern Conference.
