Paul Silas played in the NBA from 1964 to 1980. In 16 seasons, he won three championships, two with the Boston Celtics and one with the Seattle SuperSonics.
The power forward was selected twice to the NBA All-Star Game and five times to the All-Defensive All-Star.
After his playing career, Silas became a coach. With the Charlotte Hornets, he led his team to two Eastern Conference finals as head coach. In the Cleveland Cavaliers, he was LeBron James’ first head coach from 2003 to 2005.
Silas toured a total of five NBA organizations as a player and eight as a coach, four of which he served as head coach.
