Lakers turn game in third quarter
The start was anything but good. The guests pushed the pace right from the start and quickly led 21:6 in Los Angeles. Especially setback RJ Barrett, who was the best pitcher of the game with 39 points, and former Laker Julius Randle with 32 points were hard to stop.
In the third quarter, however, the Lakers turned a 56:71 halftime deficit into an 87:84 lead. They were then able to increase the lead, but Barrett equalized eight seconds before the end. In extra time, the hosts then secured the home win and thus remain in ninth place in the West.
Significant bankruptcy for Orlando
There was a defeat at home for the Orlando Magic around Franz and Moritz Wagner. Against the strong Memphis Grizzlies clearly lost the Magic 115-135. They were already trailing by 13 points after the first quarter.
Franz Wagner was the third-best thrower on his team with 15 points. His brother Moritz came off the bench and contributed nine points and five rebounds. After the loss, Orlando remains in last place in the Eastern Conferencewhile the Grizzlies remain third in the West.
