NBA: Ja Morant, handgun video. Suspended from Memphis

The Grizzlies guard was stopped in March for 8 games by the league (which opened a new investigation) for the same reason

Ja Morant can’t stay out of trouble. The Grizzlies star was suspended from all activity with the team (eliminated from the playoffs in the first round and therefore on vacation) after posting a video of him handling a firearm on social media. The NBA has announced that it has opened an investigation. Two months ago Morant was stopped by the league for the same reason. Evidently the lesson didn’t help him.

Morant flashed the gun during a since-deleted Instagram live from his friend Davonte Pack’s account as the two sang a rap song. Ja had left the Grizzlies to undergo treatment at a rehab center following an incident in March when he was filmed handling another gun at a Denver night club. The NBA suspended him for eight games. “I realized what I could lose, I have to try to be more responsible – the player said at the time – smarter, and make better choices”. Over the past year, the guard has repeatedly gotten himself into trouble. A high school student, a promise of basketball, sued him, accusing him of having thrown a punch in the head after an argument during a match. After following him home, Morant allegedly entered the young man’s apartment with a weapon in full view at his belt. Pack, his friend, was banned from games in Memphis after an argument with the staff of the Indiana Pacers, which cost him the expulsion from the FedEx Forum.
