With his season-best 53 points, Kevin Durant led the Brooklyn Nets to a home win against the New York Knicks in the North American basketball league NBA.
Just a point shy of his career best, Durant topped the game at 110-107 to give the Nets a crucial three-point lead that the team held on to in the final minute.
Of the three stars in the Nets team, Durant was the only one who was used in the duel between the New York teams. Newcomer Ben Simmons is not fit yet, Kyrie Irving is not allowed to play in New York because of the lack of vaccination against the corona virus.
However, with spectators no longer required to be vaccinated as opposed to people at work, Irving was able to watch a home game from the stands for the first time this season and witnessed Durant’s outstanding performance.
The 33-year-old also had six rebounds and nine assists. The best pitcher for the Knicks was Julius Randle with 26 points.
The Knicks’ chances of qualifying for the playoffs are dwindling, while the Nets can still hope for playoff games without further detour.
