Navy intercepts 210 kilograms of pure cocaine at sea

The Federal Judicial Police (FGP) was supported by a naval coastal patrol vessel during the action on Monday, October 9. In the Belgian Exclusive Economic Zone of the North Sea they found no less than 210 kilograms of pure cocaine. The drugs are said to have a sales value of 11.5 million euros. The FGP is conducting an investigation into the discovery together with the maritime police.

The coastal patrol vessels Castor and Pollux carry out surveillance missions in the North Sea in collaboration with the federal police and customs. In addition to these missions related to state security, they are also deployed for fisheries controls, maritime pollution control or during sea rescue operations.
