A car was hit by a train on Tongersestraat in Boxtel on Friday evening around half past six. That happened at a railway crossing. There were no injuries.
The driver of the car said she had made a navigation error. She came to a stop on the track towards Den Bosch and was unable to drive away. Bystanders tried to push the car off the track, but were unable to do so.
The front of the car was eventually hit by a train that was unable to brake in time. The driver had already gotten out of the car and walked off the track. The car has now been removed from the track.
As a result of the collision, no trains ran between Eindhoven and Den Bosch for several hours.
