In a nature reserve in Berlin-Lichtenberg there was a fire early on Pentecost Sunday
“We were alerted at 1:21 a.m. An area of 50 square meters of vegetation was on fire,” said a fire department spokesman.
A particular difficulty was the supply of fire-fighting water, which required many times the number of emergency services and fire engines. Seven fire engines were therefore in use on Gotlindestrasse. People were not harmed.
Firefighters had the fire under control after almost two hours. The cause of fire was unclear for the moment. However, after an initial assessment by the police and fire brigade, arson cannot be ruled out.
