With its imposing size, the European sturgeon (Acipenser sturio) was the largest fish in Dutch waters for thousands of years. But since the 1950s, this primal fish that dates back to prehistoric times has disappeared from our rivers. Nature organizations have joined forces to get the sturgeon back.
